Decided to do some dumpster diving at GameStop, because they often throw out working games, consoles, and accessories, and it’s absolutely legal as long as the dumpster is not locked, fenced in, or otherwise marked no trespassing. I didn’t find anything this time, except for THIS beauty. I am in love.
Also, when I got out to my car this morning, I was greeted by a lot of little asshats who don’t seem to realize it’s rude to touch someone’s car without permission.
Those jerks.

Nahh, they’re thugs. Look at them, just cruising around in the hood.

That’s pretty badass, and i wasn’t aware of the game/console dumping.
Why would they throw out product?

I beleive that would be employee theft. Its actually a pretty common tactic in retail. Employee A tosses stuff unbenounced to Employee B, friend of Employee A goes back to collect it later.

That makes a hell of a lot more sense.

Demonstrators? They can’t put them back on the shelf, and trying to make money otherwise would mean giving them new inventory numbers and such, so they just write them off and dump them.
European car rental firms do something similar. They buy new cars and rent them out until the first service is due after 6-9 months. They then dump them at auctions and rinse and repeat. Too much hassle to keep track of maintenance status and the like. It’s also pretty hard to get a rental that sits on winter tires for these reasons.

Nah, Gamestop’s entire format is based off used games/equipment, they’d be more than happy to slap USED on it and sell it.
